Josh was first exposed to triathlon from his older brother. He began running the last year he was in college with his sister because he was out of shape. For any one who is not athletic and wants to be look to him for guidance. “High school and college were a great time without an ounce of athleticism” according to Josh. A few years of casual running and an impulse buy of a road bike on sale paved the road to his current lifestyle. He found his way to Wilmington for graduate school and entered the Topsail Surf N Turf as his first triathlon. It wasn’t until 2008 that he asked Glenn Mccarroll to coach him and started being more competitive in his races.
Training Tips:
- Find a groups to train with. Long workouts get shorter with friends to talk to and race against.
