A. I became a triathlete after being invited to swim the channel with some Y Tri Club members. I was trying to get back in shape and realized everyone at the channel that morning was in better shape than me. Figured that was a pretty good endorsement for triathlon and I jumped right in.


B. Balance? What's that? You do the best you can. I am really lucky to work for myself, which allows me to work some strange hours to balance career and training.


C. Listen to your body, unless it's lying to you. You can usually tell when you need a rest day, but sometimes your body lies when it tells you to stay in bed on those dark mornings...


D. Pinehurst 2007 - My first tri and I was sick leading up to the race.
Lake Logan 2009 - Overcame issues on the bike, didn't DNF, and finished strong.
IM Arizona 2009 - My first IM and the culmination of a lot of work.


E. Team Hoyt, all the disabled and elderly athletes - if they can do it, what's my excuse? Quote "You're better than you think you are".
