Does a bucket count as "Gear"

This may be the wrong place for this post but I just had a race last saturday and I noticed a lot of people carrying their stuff in buckets. As i watched them I thought to myself "Why are these people carrying their stuff in buckets? Couldn't they find a plastic bag or something?" I continued to think this up until T1 where the guy next to me sat comfortably on his bucket to put on his shoes while I plopped my butt on the pavement so I wouldnt fall over. I am deffinately adding "bucket" to my checklist for my next tri. I also thought it was neat that some of the people had covered their buckets with their race bibs from all their races. It was really cool.

Tri Shoes Why are they different?

A triathlon cycling shoe is different from a regular cycling shoe in a few ways. Tri shoes are designed to allow the user to put on and take off easier. The way most shoes achieve this is by using one or two velcro straps instead of buckles and most have a pull tab on the heel that you can grab to pull the shoe on your foot quicker. Tri shoes ususally do not have a tongue and are designed to be worn without socks and the bottoms of the shoes usually have a few drain holes for water to drain out of. IF you want faster transitions use tri shoes. Check out the following link for a cool history on Bont

http://bikehugger.com/2010/02/bont-shoes-explained-or-the-pa.html

Sick Guru Video

Just got done watching this super cool video detailing the custom Guru assembly process. Probably one of the most in depth looks at a companies manufacturing process that I've seen.

Here is the link:http://www.gurubikes.com/enUS/main.php

Click on the "As seen on How It's Made" link at the bottom of the page.

The first paint job looks awfully familiar.
