Bike Cycles has recently added paddle boards to what we stock and sell. In our area there are many waterways, the ocean, ponds and lakes. As cyclists we enjoy the freedom of going places on our bicycles that cars or motorized vehicles can not go. By adding a few paddle boards to our offerings we are able to sell the same feeling of freedom to customers who want to take that feeling to one of the many waterways of our area.
If you are a cyclist, or simply enjoy riding your cruiser and are considering a paddle board, stop by and let us show you what board would fit your body, style and budget. Boards, like bikes, have an intended use and reason for their shape. Stocking Stand Up Paddle boards, paddles and accessories is simply another way for us to share our love of the area with our customers. A quick tip to check your bike tires is to simply air them up and give them a slow spin as you look for cuts or nicks that may cause an issue on your next ride. 3. Fanatic Fly Race Carbon 12’6″ 254liters 30.5″Wide Fly race fin
This is one of my choices for best all around board. It is fast and very stable. A domed nose with water-cutting bow and flat-angled deck disperses chop and releases water for maximum speed. It will handle the swell in the inlet, some surf on the shoals and racing around your favorite island. This board has seen some use and is in great condition. The deck has one small repair that barely shows, no water penetration. Small hole got punched during transport, then quickly repaired. New $2080 Super special winter deal……….$1375!
4. Fanatic Fly Race Carbon 12’6″ “skinny” 225liters 27.75″Wide special weed fin makes this board track very straight

This board was used by Chase Kosterlitz to win the first Carolina Cup. It is a very capable race board that has the volume for the larger rider/racer. The future of the sport of stand up paddle board showed up for Saturday’s first annual Surf to Sound Challenge, November 19th. There were 8 kids that showed up to race the 12 and under division at Wrightsville Beach, NC. The race started on the Blockade Runner’s soundside beach and went out into Banks Channel to a bouy that they were instructed to round the bouy to their port side and head back to cross the finish line. The race took approximately 10 minutes and was finished by all who started. The adults raced too, but it was the kids race that was by far one of the most exciting.
