A triathlon cycling shoe is different from a regular cycling shoe in a few ways. Tri shoes are designed to allow the user to put on and take off easier. The way most shoes achieve this is by using one or two velcro straps instead of buckles and most have a pull tab on the heel that you can grab to pull the shoe on your foot quicker. Tri shoes ususally do not have a tongue and are designed to be worn without socks and the bottoms of the shoes usually have a few drain holes for water to drain out of. IF you want faster transitions use tri shoes. Check out the following link for a cool history on Bont

I've got a pair of the Bont A10's, and I can say that those shoes are dope. Having never owned a tri-shoe before, these are leaps and bounds ahead of my old pair of Perl Izumi road shoes. I heat-molded (yup heat moldable for only $180, cheapest out there) the shoes and there's no turning back. They are super stiff shoes in general, and the feeling on the bike is that your pedals aren't even there, just a cradle for your foot. The shoes fit really snugly on my feet after being molded, and the massive heal loop and quick tie down strap means we'll all be a little closer to shawn's transition times
