Nickname(s): I’ve been called lots of things but fortunately none really stuck :)

Most Memorable Cycling Experience: Building an adult bicycle with stabilizer wheels for a Veteran who lost both legs and one arm and had prosthetic limbs. He was able to go ripping around the parking lot and came back with a huge smile!

Most Prided Cycling Accomplishment: Opening BIke Cycles after owning part of another shop in town, finishing LaRuta De Conquistadors 2x, as well as Ironman Brazil, Ironman NC, etc.

Motivation to Ride: If you love what you do for work you will never work a day in your life. I love cycling and all the opportunities it gives you in life!

Professional / Educational Background: Body Geometry Fit Certification, FIST Certification, AAS Manufacturing Engineering, BS Parks and Rec MGMT

Fun Fact: As an ex-ultramarathon runner I have found that cycling is a true lifelong sport that provides exercise and escape.

Most Memorable Cycling Experience: Racing in a 200-mile, unbound gravel race formerly called “DityKanza200" in Emporia, Kansas.

Most Prided Cycling Accomplishment: Becoming a Certified Retul Fitter.

Motivation to Ride: Riding is a healthy, lifelong endeavor that leaves no impact on the body.

Professional / Educational Background: Attending SBCU at Specialized and reaching the highest level of bike fitting: Certified Retul Fitter.

Fun Fact: I enjoy suffering on the bike.

Most Memorable Cycling Experience: When my husband and I were dating, we took a day trip to bike from Fort Fisher to the ferry crossing, then into and around Southport.  We spent the whole day explore the area by bike, stopping at local places for food and drinks.  It was such a fun and creative date idea!

Most Prided Cycling Accomplishment: Continuing to commute by bike throughout my pregnancy and now being able to take my toddler out for rides.

Motivation to Ride: Keeping healthy and making an effort to save gas.

Professional / Educational Background: I don't have any professional cycling background related materials. I was taught most of what I now about bike mechanics from my former employer.  I've enjoyed learning new methods from the other mechanics at our shop.

Fun Fact: My commuter bike is a single speed steel Surly Crosscheck.  I enjoy the simplicity and comfort it allows on the crazy Wilmington roads.

Most Memorable Cycling Experience: Renting day bikes while on our honeymoon in beautiful southern Spain.  

Most Prided Cycling Accomplishment: Commuting by bike to school and work through my undergrad and grad programs, despite  torrential downpours!

Motivation to Ride: Stay healthy. Clear my mind. Reduce my carbon footprint. Save money on gas. See and smell the world around me.

Professional / Educational Background: U.S. Marine Corps veteran; graduate of Barnett Bicycle Institute; B.A. Recreation, Sports Leadership, and Tourism Management - University of North Carolina Wilmington; M.S. Geoscience - University of North Carolina Wilmington

Fun Fact: I’m multilingual and babble nonsense to our son.

Motivation to Ride: I'm motivated by expensive beach parking and maintaining physical fortitude.

Most Prided Cycling Accomplishment: Retiring after my 800th bike race after 40 of racing!! Finish 3rd!! 

Motivation to Ride: It's what I do. It's life!!

Professional / Educational Background: Retired 5th Grade teacher; B.S., B.A., and a Master's from ASU; U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Fun Fact: When asked what would I do if I could no longer ride my bike. Simple..I'd go ride my bike!!

Favorite Motto: Bicycles..don't ride 'em. Race 'em and live by Rule # 9 and # 5 !!

Motivation to Ride: I’m motivated to ride for fun, exercise, and the  thrill.

Professional / Educational Background: Laney High School Alumnus, Current Wake Forest University Student (rising Junior)

Fun Fact: I'm a huge ice hockey fan.

Most Memorable Cycling Experience: Completing my first century ride through Holly Shelter with my Wattage Cottage teammates.  

Most Prided Cycling Accomplishment: Being able to build full wheel sets.

Motivation to Ride: The feeling of being able to move forward and progress the more I ride.

Fun Fact: I can solve a Rubik's cube in under a minute.

Favorite Motto: When concussed, you get two minutes to reflect then you have to go cheer for your teammates.
